Community Sports Ground Receptionist

The All England Lawn Tennis Club, the home of The Championships, Wimbledon wishes to recruit a Community Sports Ground Receptionist to provide a high standard of reception and administrative/secretarial duties as part of the Community Programme based at The All England Club Community Sports Ground in Raynes Park.

Proven administrative/secretarial experience and good reception and customer service skills are essential. The successful applicant will possess strong IT skills, be numerate and enjoy working with a small team.

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 2.00pm to 7.00pm, although flexibility will be required to meet the demands of the role. We anticipate the successful candidate will commence in August 2016.

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will made of the successful candidate. This will be carried out on your behalf by the AELTC and a fully clear disclosure is the minimum requirement for employment.

Job Description

Job Title:

Community Sports Ground Receptionist

Reports to:

 WJTI Manager and Head Tennis Coach

Main Purpose of Job:

To provide a high standard of reception/secretarial/administrative support for the WJTI.

Main Duties

  • To maintain high customer service standards at all times with a first class reception of visitors
  • To maintain an immaculate reception area and ensure the reception desk is manned at all times
  • Answer calls promptly and accurately in a pleasant and professional manner
  • Secretarial duties including word processing, producing Excel spreadsheets, database management
  • Routine administration duties such as preparation of correspondence, routine filing (electronic and paper), copying and scanning
  • Receive and sort incoming mail and dispatch outgoing mail
  • Direct visitors to the correct destination
  • Make court bookings on computerised system
  • Comply with the AELTC Child Protection Policy and Guidelines

Other

  • Follow health and safety procedures including manual handling procedures
  • Any other duties within the scope of the post as may be required by the WJTI Manager

Person Specification

Essential

  • Strong IT skills: Word, Excel, Outlook and database management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively by telephone, email and face-to-face with people at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to be discreet and maintain confidentiality
  • Able to use initiative (within agreed guidelines), multi-task, meet deadlines and cope with a fluctuating workload
  • An interest in tennis/sport and the local community
